Breakfast: Good investment or waste of time?

I ADMIT that there are times I don’t eat breakfast because usually I’m not hungry and I’d rather sleep. But my mother is always reminding me to eat breakfast because it’s the most important meal of the day. But later on, I realize that she’s right.

Benefits of eating breakfast:
  • Boost mind alertness
A good breakfast will help you to focus on your daily activities. By then, you’ll have the chance to get better grades or finish your work without any mistakes.

  • Maintains healthy weight
Eating breakfast will not only help you to gain healthy weight but it also helps you to reduce the risk of obesity and impulsive eating. This is good especially if you’re on a diet.

  • Let you in good mood
Yes, that’s right. If you eat breakfast, you can do a lot of things because you won’t feel tired and sleepy.

So what I don’t care?!
Oops! Think twice. If you want to have physical problems like headache, stomach pain, muscle fatigue and be obese; emotional problems like anger, anxiety, irritability and unhappiness, then don’t eat breakfast.

Then what should I do?
Load yourself with healthy foods like fruit, high-fiber oatmeal/cereals, wheat bread, eggs, milk/fresh fruit juice.

I don’t have time.
Learn time management. Wake up early or before you sleep, prepare the ingredients so that even you wake a little late at least time is save from preparing your meal. I bet toasting bread or eating cereal won’t eat your time that much.

I don’t like traditional foods.
Think again. No one force you to eat traditional breakfast foods. Just eat healthy foods, if you have fruit, sandwich or salad, then eat it. Try to experiment like eating pancakes with fruit or berries, or make smoothies. The choice is in your hands.

So what do you think? Is breakfast a good investment or waste of time?
